Our family

Ripples Charity was created by sisters Raye, Amma, Absolutely and Katelyn, supported by their parents Paul and Sarah. The family’s long connection with Ghana and their wish to respond to the needs seen there shaped the charity’s purpose and direction.

Raye is an award winning singer songwriter and record producer whose work has earned national and international recognition, including a historic set of wins at the 2024 Brit Awards. Amma and Absolutely are emerging artists known for their creative talent and growing presence in the music scene. Katelyn, the youngest, brings a grounded sense of care and a clear belief that small acts can make a real difference. Together, the sisters share the same commitment to using their resources and influence for good.

With Paul and Sarah offering guidance and support, the family provides the vision, resources and drive that guide Ripples Charity, grounding its work in compassion, responsibility and steady, practical action for communities across Ghana.

Our extended family

Our trustees and volunteers are more than just supporters—they are cherished members of our extended family. Each of them brings a special blend of kindness, dedication and passion, working hand-in-hand with us to make a difference. Their generosity and commitment enable us to expand our reach and touch more lives, helping us to fulfill our mission in ways we could never do alone. We deeply value every trustee and volunteer who joins us on this journey, sharing in our vision to spread hope and support to those who need it most.

Jo Salter MBE

“Auntie Jo” is a close, long standing family friend and an experienced charity trustee. Her background brings depth, leadership and a wide range of experience to Ripples Charity.

Jo began her career in the RAF, becoming Britain’s first female fast jet pilot. Years in aviation shaped her approach to courage, decision making and service. After leaving the RAF, she built a varied career in consultancy, coaching and teaching, supporting organisations through change and helping leaders grow in confidence and clarity.

Jo has written books, spoken internationally and contributed to transformative programmes that build capability and community. Her MBE and Honorary Doctorate reflect a long standing commitment to work that strengthens opportunity for others.

Jo’s role in Ripples Charity brings her experience, energy and steady commitment to practical action. Her daughters also volunteer with Ripples, continuing a pattern of giving that runs through family, friendship and community.

Jose Giles

Uncle Jose is a Senior Principal Consultant at a Digital Transformation Company, with a background that blends strategic leadership, innovation and a strong sense of social responsibility. Growing up in Ghana, he gained first-hand insight into the challenges faced by many communities, while also seeing the resilience, talent and potential that exist within them.

His professional experience in technology and business transformation has reinforced his belief in the power of knowledge, technology and guidance to unlock opportunity. Jose is particularly passionate about the future of young people in Africa and believes that, when equipped with the right tools and support, they are ready to take control of their own destinies.

Through his involvement with Ripples Charity, Jose brings a practical, solutions-focused approach, grounded in empowerment and long-term impact. His commitment reflects a deep belief in investing in people, nurturing potential and creating pathways for sustainable change.

Sarah Keen

“Mum” Sarah grew up in Ghana, where early experiences shaped her understanding of community and care. Childhood visits to local orphanages left a lasting impression and built a strong sense of responsibility towards children and families facing hardship. Those moments formed the foundation of her desire to support others in practical, meaningful ways.

Sarah also spent decades working as a Mental Health Nurse, Health Visitor, Lecturer Practitioner and as a Health Care Commissioner in the NHS, strengthening her instinct to care for people in difficult circumstances and deepening her commitment to dignity, compassion and steady support. That experience shapes the insight she brings to Ripples Charity.

Her involvement in the charity reflects a long held purpose. Sarah brings practical understanding, relationships and a clear commitment to helping vulnerable children, young people, families and communities. Being part of Ripples Charity allows her to continue the work that began in her childhood and to build connections across different backgrounds and experiences.

For Sarah, giving is rooted in compassion, shared humanity and the belief that steady support can make a real difference in the lives of others.
